FRACKNATION DOCUMENTARY TO AIR ON ASX-TV ON JANUARY 22ND

The conservatvie film wave continues with Ann & Phelim's Media documentary FrackNation landing TV distribution with AXS-TV! Here is the press release!

Hollywood, CA— FrackNation, the controversial film that will tell the truth about fracking, has secured a television deal and will premiere January 22, 2013 on AXS TV. “We’re excited to get the truth to the public,” said Phelim McAleer, co-director and presenter of the documentary. “And we’re doubly excited to be working with AXS TV. FrackNation will broadcast to homes across America. That’s exactly what the fracking debate needs.”

Hollywood Reporter, the entertainment industry magazine, reported on the deal this morning.

FrackNation features investigative journalist Phelim McAleer on a journey that takes him across America to find the truth about fracking. As he asked environmentalists difficult questions about their often emotional campaigns against fracking, McAleer was met with bogus lawsuits, slammed doors and gun threats.

"FrackNation has been described as the first 'pro-fracking film.' I would describe it as pro-journalism and pro-truth," said McAleer. "It asks hard questions of the environmental movement and its campaigns. And they seem to not like difficult questions.”

The film is co-directed by a tightly knit team of three directors: Phelim McAleer, his wife Ann McElhinney and their colleague Magdalena Segieda.

“There has been a lot of talk about fracking in the media—from documentaries to Oscar-contending films such as Promised Land starring Matt Damon and John Krasinski—but what’s lacking is honesty and perspective,” said McElhinney.

“We talked to people across the country in areas where fracking is happening in their backyard. They all told us the same thing: Fracking is safe and it’s saving our community, but the media is ignoring us. We were willing to listen,” she added.

FrackNation was funded through the crowdsourcing website Kickstarter. The filmmakers raised $212,265 from 3,305 backers on Kickstarter on April 6, 2012. It was one of the most successful documentary campaigns in the history of Kickstarter.

AMERICAN THINKER REVIEW OF 'HATING BREITBART'

Scott Swett of the American Thinker reviews the film "Hating Breitbart". The review does contain some light spoilers. Excerpt.

Hating Breitbart is clearly a labor of love, and as such, it has a fair number of "inside baseball" moments.  Some viewers may tire of watching Breitbart lounge around hotel rooms being quirky and mercurial, at the expense of more footage of his powerful public appearances.  However, both of the "operating modes" Breitbart claimed as his complete repertoire -- jocularity and righteous indignation -- are fairly represented.  His righteous indignation usually targeted the left's politics of division, which he summarizes crisply as "the opposite of e pluribus unum."

WASHINGTON EXAMINER INTERIVEW WITH "HATING BRIETBART" DIRECTOR

The Washington Examiner has an interview with "Hating Breitbart" director Andrew Marcus about the documentary.

Excerpt. 

“It was an absolute blast,” Marcus explained. “It was also the most exhausting thing I had ever been a part of. The guy had boundless energy.”
The long awaited documentary of Breitbart will premiere tonight in Washington D.C. and opens in theaters on October 19.

When Marcus speaks about the film, he takes the tone of a storm-chaser, who couldn’t stop following Andrew Breitbart sweep the country and sweeping up  everything in his path. That experience lasted two years, which Marcus still marvels about today.

“I was always very shocked at the things that would unfold in front of our cameras, but you know reliably every time we turned them on and he was around crazy stuff would happen,” Marcus said.
