LAYOFFS AT TOKYOPOP

This news just crossed the wires at AnimeNewsNetwork.com

More staff members are no longer working at the Los Angeles-based manga publisher Tokyopop, including several of the few editors it still had. ANN confirmed that Lillian Diaz-Przybyl, an editor at the company for almost seven years, is no longer at the company as of this week.
There is a tremendous amount of instability in the North American anime industry and here is another example of that instability continuing into 2011. Yet despite all of this instability we still have people who state they "know this business" living in a 2006 mindset.Living in that mindset will result in layoffs, downsizing or the company closing.  One need only to look at.

Folks the amine world has fundamentally changed from in the past 5-6 years and its going to change alot more before its all said and done.
